mixed media on paperboard, 25×25 cm (each), 25 pieces, 2017

The piece comprises of 25 individual panels with an artistic approach and the authentic technique of the artist, based on the affiliation of their cinematic observations and memories of the Istanbul city.

As the multicultural city of our day undertakes a tremendous change, these images based on space-time and the volatile existence of memory, undertake the analysis of Istanbul’s culture and history based on architectural structure, and present the current “situation” to the observer. These panels of personal reflection, projects an eerie situation; they seek the singular structures of seperate periods that are on the verge of disintegration, and are destined for destruction, in the jumbled, to-date city pattern. The artist’s belief in sociocultural opulence makes so that there’s also hope of regeneration contained inside the images.
